The Aaton Aminima is a small form factor S16mm camera launched in 1999 and has been used in documentaries and feature films including The Hurt Locker, La La Land, City of God, Old Joy, The Constant Gardener, and Moonrise Kingdom.
The camera has an ergonomic form (245mm x 140mm x 110mm), and is lightweight (2kg with battery and film) making it great for handheld work.
Features include crystal control for audio syncing, a high speed mode (up to 50FPS), light meter, 172.8 degree shutter, PL Mount, B&W video assist out, intervalometer, Aminima power base extension with Lemo 5 and 6 connectors and 3/8” threads for a mattebox / accessories.
This camera has a good history having been owned by the BBC in the UK before us. It’s been recently serviced by an ex-Aaton employee based in the Netherlands.
